How do I know if Occupational Therapy can benefit my child?
Schedule a free consultation with our licensed occupational therapist and co-founder of Sensory Haven, LLC, Victoria Kieltyka. Together we can discuss concerns and answer questions involving your child’s daily routines, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, attention, sensory processing, and more.
After our consultation, we’ll arrange an evaluation to better understand your child’s unique strengths and needs. With that information, we can develop a personalized therapy plan designed to support their growth.
Therapy sessions will be designed specifically to meet your child’s goals using play-based activities, sensory integration tools, and more to guide them in building the skills needed to participate in meaningful activities within the home, school & community.
Let’s build stronger foundations—together.
At Sensory Haven, our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and judgement free environment where children of all abilities can grow, explore, and thrive.Through sensory-rich activities, movement, and connection, we empower kids to build confidence, develop essential skills, and discover the joy of their own unique potential.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is client-centered based therapeutic intervention addressing the needs of individuals who may have deficits in “occupations” of their daily lives. Occupations could be work, school, social interactions, daily living skills, etc. We address the person as a whole to help improve skills so the individual becomes as independent as possible in their daily lives.
Here at Sensory Haven, LLC our focus is on children and their daily occupations;
Fine motor skills are when the small muscles in your hands and arms work to perform activities such as writing, playing with toys, dressing and more.
Visual motor skills are when the eyes and hands work together to complete a task such as catching a ball or reading through a textbook to find information for academic assignments.
Sensory processing pertains to the whole body. It is when the brain receives, interprets and reacts to external stimuli such as touch, smell, sight & sounds. Some children interpret these stimuli in different ways. The goal for sensory integration is to help the child interpret the information in controlled ways to create regulation and calmness in their everyday lives.
